Download the Zest

Tired of pesky CDs?
Thanks to the modern marvel of the "internet" you can still enjoy the music of THE ZEST OF YORE without having to deal with this outdated and troublesome medium. All the songs on ZOY's debut EP — from "The Kids Gloves Come Off" to "Admit That It's Christmas (You've Got To)" — are currently available (or have been delivered and being encoded at the moment) on all the major music download services including:
Apple iTunes
BuyMusic
Music4Cents
Napster
Rhapsody
MusicNet

And thanks to various lawsuits and the death of unlimited free music ... we get paid each time you download a song.

Back to the studio

THE ZEST OF YORE will be hitting the studio again later this week to do some more tracking for our as-yet-unnamed full-length debut. Earlier this month, we did 16 tracks over two days lacking only vocals and one or two guitar "solo" type things. There are at least five more ready to roll and we are projecting the new release will have more than twenty-five songs.

We'll be putting new stuff up when available and we'll also slip in a few photos from past shows as soon as time allows. Right now you can enjoy the fine craftsmanship of these "i'm just learning to use the new camera" and "whoops, I forgot my real camera, but I have this point-and-shoot" photos.

ZOY on KERA

Thanks to everyone who e-mailed Paul Slavens at KERA about playing THE ZEST OF YORE. During this Sunday's show he enlightened his listeners by playing "Brandish Your Uniform," talked about the EP a bit and gave a shout out to Denton. Paul says "KERA was the first station to play my band way back in the day. Just tryin' to pass it on."

Be sure to keep listening to Paul's show each week (Sunday from 7 to 10 on 90.1FM in Dallas or at KERA.org). Even when he's not playing THE ZEST OF YORE, he's playing great music.

Joys of 69

After just 10 days of wooing THE ZEST OF YORE has finally made it to the 69 spot on BarStar's Hot 100. We have the stamina to stay in the 69 position all day long (and will since they only update the list once a day), but we're an adventurous group and would like to experiment with the countdown's more desirable bits. Use your computer to help ZOY get some more Hot 100 love. You can vote once a day, so keep coming back for more.

Make Dallas Radio More Zesty

Paul Slavens host of 90.1 at Night on KERA (90.1 FM in the Dallas area) is looking for suggestions for music to play. The show airs every Sunday from 7 to 10 p.m. He has THE ZEST OF YORE CD, so send him an e-mail to let him know he should be playing the Zest: pslavens@kera.org

ZOY isn't too found of corporate radio, but we think it would be funny for "A Broadcast from Station Supreme" to get on a Clear Channel station. Send an e-mail to 102.1 The Edge's The Adventure Club with Josh to request ZOY: josh@kdge.com

ZOY in the studio

THE ZEST OF YORE has just completed the basic tracks for an astounding 16 SONGS in just under two days. The deed went down at Pamona Records under the engineering supervision of the mighty JC. They'll be back in the studio later this month to continue working on what could be the most ambitious undertaking by a band in the history of music.

New music! New fans?

THE ZEST OF YORE is currently in the studio recording new songs. You'll be hearing more about this in the near future.

A song from the debut EP is being considered by the producers of The OC for use on the show. "The Kid Gloves Come Off" was added to the list of songs being considered in the show's Enter the Mix competition. Be sure to go to the "Your Music Suggestions" section of the Music from the OC Forum to put in a good word for ZOY. We're not counting on the producers selecting "Kid Gloves," just hoping to win a few more fans.
